About

fab (previously George Street Studios) is an artist and design studio that houses 12 artists, designers and metal fabricators. Established in 1997, we have provided studios to over 50 artists and craftspeople over the last 25 years. Through our studio tenancy opportunities, we have developed a community of multidisciplinary craftspeople who share their knowledge and experience in a way that makes fab truly unique.

Our studio plays a pivotal role in offering metal fabrication services and creative solutions to a diverse range of makers and arts organisations. In partnership with Helpmann Academy and Fringe Festival, fab provides annual studio residencies that include access to resources and mentorship to artists. In doing so we endeavour to foster an environment where artists are empowered to bring concepts to fruition and develop skills that are relevant to their practice.

For design and fabrication enquiries please contact us here.

We are a volunteer run organistation if you would like to donate or support please contact us here.
